Greetings Angry One. I have been away for some time and have eagerly awaited to read your article. On my voyage of the world I was able to watch the England- Croatia. Anry One, I must that that I, although not as scholared in the game as you, believe this was one of the best games I have seen in the sport. Non-stop action from start to finish. I also am happy the Croats stepped up their game against Engald following their prior game vs. Macedonia which played made the Mud Bowl and the recent Pitt.- Miami game look like a walk in the park on a warm and sunny day. While impressed by the Croats I was also impressed of the play of Crouch. Watching him play reminded me of the scene in the movie One Flew Over Cuckoos Nest where Nicholsons character thought the Indian chief to play baketball by having him stand under the hoop and just lobing up the ball to him for the put in. This is the English offense in a sense as all high ball are won by Crouch. I have since that game also seen the recent Liverpool game in which Crouch game off the bench int 72nd min (why he was on the bench in the first place I have NO idea) and subsequently turned a tight 1-1 game into a 4-1 Liverpool win. As for Beckham, even though he was on the field as England tried to come back vs. Croatia, it has become clear that, while still being able to bend it like no one else, his game is in its last stages as his ability to cover ground has come close to a stanstill. Well enough of the soccer world, its time and I'm ready for some football - American style. Til next time wise and angry one.

Ahh, my friend, Chief Anonymous, glad to see you back. Crouch is growing on me as a player. His skill with the ball at his feet is impressive for a man his size and no one can deny he changes the way a defense plays because of his height. Your question on why he does not start for Liverpool is because their coach, Rafa Benitez (Hope that is the way it is spelled) has a rotation system for all his players so to not tire them out by the end of the year. With quality options at forward, Kyut, Veronin, Torres and Crouch, he has the luxury of playing any combination of the four. Crouch tends to score in the big games, so I would expect him to play a significant amount in their upcoming Champion's League game against Marseille. In regards to Croatia, I am most happy with coach Bilic employing a 4 man defensive back line and a keep scoring, offensive soccer mentality.
